Our cabin was fine, we had a "deluxe balcony". We tried this because we heard the shower was bigger and it was. There was even a small shelf that made shaving possible (me, not my husband...) The shower head was improved and water pressure was great. The new standard pillow top mattress was very nice and we didn't have to request our usual egg crate. We did have to ask our wonderful steward for different pillows as the ones we had were rock hard and crunchy like old plastic. The couch in the cabin was totally unusable as the sleeper inside made it slant downward and we would keep sliding off. We stuffed pillows under the cushions in an attempt to stay put but to no avail! We read many complaints about the smaller balconies and they were, but it didn't bother us.
The ship was beautiful, yes, but I'm guessing the size compromised the food quality and temperature. Found the dining room food to be mostly average. The menu was over burdened with exotic choices like duck, lamb and lots of various seafood. I'm afraid we enjoy mostly beef and chicken- but that's just us. We've always enjoyed the horizon court but it was very confusing as when you liked a particular food you would have to search all four sides as each line was not the same and it wasn't in the same place every time. It didn't seem as fresh and their wonderful bacon was often just crumbles and hash browns were replaced by potato balls. We liked Alfredos but my pizza had a soggy crust. We did all private tours this time as the ships tours were very over priced and we loved the smaller group size. The staff were outstanding as usual for Princess but I think we will try another cruise line next time after 6 cruises on Princess just to compare.....
extremely poor tender process returning to ship
