Our only previous family cruise was a 7-night First Class all-the-way cruise 5 years ago on the Freedom of the Seas (previously reviewed on this site), a much larger and newer ship, and certainly a different experience. I only mention this because - at the beginning of this cruise - I couldn't help but compare everything about this ship to that Freedom cruise. Poor Enchantment was coming up (way) short, which wasn't really fair. Initially, it severely inhibited my enjoyment of this cruise. However, fortunately, I was able to reset my expectations early enough to really enjoy this shorter cruise experience.

We booked kind of late, so in lieu of getting the Grand Suite we desired, we ended up with two adjoining Junior Suites, which actually worked out better now that our 2 daughters have exited their teens. They could come and go as they pleased at night, but it was wonderful that they wanted to spend time with us parents most evenings anyway.

Embarkation was quick and the Windjammer was ready for lunch as we boarded before noon. Only slight confusion was mine regarding where to park our car, and $75 for the duration seemed reasonable.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Nice living space, shows its age, unusual (and smallish) bathroom with fan on all the time (no switch to turn it off?), but won't make the mistake of being on the deck just below the Solarium/Park Cafe again. Too much noise - foot steps, moving carts - from above at night.
