We headed out from the well located and cozy Hotel Campiello via Alilaguna to the port. It was nice not having to change boats to get to the port, after you get off its a short walk to the terminal.
Once in the terminal, embarkation was fantastic! Best I've ever seen. Minimal waiting, extremely well organized--they even had separate baggage drop off areas for front and back of ship. Room was ready and immaculately clean upon boarding the ship. And, I must say, I LOVE having a balcony on a cruise!
Good things about the cruise:
Nice side view balcony. Bed was comfortable, AC worked very well and cooled the room off fast. Really like the bathroom arrangement with three compartments for shower, sink, and toilet.
One of the worlds awesome cities. Amazing sights, atmosphere and food. Don't bother with an organized tour, just explore on your own and take your time.
Our bicycle excursion was cancelled by the cruise line, so we just walked the town, hiked up both fortresses, had an awesome Greek meal at a Taverna. It was a great day. Don't miss the local Corfu Beer, and the local seafood specialty, Bourdeto.
Great day in Mykonos. Started by walking the old town, seeing little Venice, the windmills, the coastline. Then, we rented a car (Smart) and drove to the lovely Panorma beach where we relaxed in the sun and swam for a few hours. We then drove around the island a bit.
We took the train to Olympia (about 40mins) and walked the ruins. There is also a museum there. If you're a history buff, this is awesome, for me, just OK. We then had a great lunch back at the port, stuffed squid, moussaka and cold beer--life is good!
