after reading many reviews I had mixed feelings about the azura, many saying its standards had dropped. We have cruised with Thomson on all of their ships so therefore we were going to have to judge if the azura was more luxurious. Well this is our honest opinion. 2 days prior to our cruise we had an email about the norovirus that was onboard during the previous week. We arrived at the terminal at 2 excellent service with our luggage removed from car, and car driven away, but because the norovirus there were enormous long queues, but once onboard all went well cases in cabin.
Cabin:- an inside, good size, safe plenty of room where you hung your clothes, drawers, fridge and kettle. Excellent. Restaurants:- oriental for club dining (6 15 or 8 15) peninsular & meridian for freedom dining, we will use freedom dining next time. Service excellent, food good (similar to thomson). Waiters brought hour wine no probs. Sindhi & epicurean require a supplement but are well worth it wonderful service. Buffet:- Verona/verenezia self service rather chaotic instead of having an entry and exit people were bumping into each other, but the worst part is because of this system people werè just going in and not sanitising their hands, dreadful after the norovirus last week that is our only ngative.
Entertainment:- lots of bars, we watched the comedian Paul Roberts a singer both excellent, the azura orchestra good and catch 22 good. Playhouse:- the tenor was superb also a westerns show. Disappointed they didn't put on more shows but all in all very good.
Plenty of storage for clothes and space for cases. Good size queen bed. Very clean
Very slick when you arrive by car. Taken away by car park attendants.
The old town is quaint and well worth a walk around
Nice old wooden buildings that was once warehouses now shops. Nice place to walk around.
