Had been on a Norwegian Cruise to Alaska 2 weeks prior, and this Princess cruise did not live up to expectations. The overall food was shockingly bad and I would compare it to Dennys. Italian night produced food that was inedible. Most food was tasteless and uninspired. A series of delays from weather to another ship at port caused delays in the schedule. The bright spot was some of the entertainment. The singers and dancers were superior. The magician was monotonous and used far too many card tricks for an audience of this size. The cabin steward failed to make up the room one night and delayed in our requests for robes and towels. (Never had this problem with Carnival, Norwegian or any other carriers we have used).
Never actually saw the cruise director except on TV. The programs scoped out as shipboard activities were limited and uninteresting. This was our first Princess Cruise and I hope it is not representative of this cruise line.
We attempted to board with our luggage, (as we have done on other cruises) but were rudely turned away. (We were told this was Princess policy). Overall, an expensive waste of our time and money.
The cabin was larger than average with the deluxe category.
Good time walking around town.
