Sail Date: Jun 2015

We recently sailed on the Jade out of Venice. We had sailed with other cruise lines before but this was our first time with NCL. Embarkation was smooth and trouble free and our cabin immaculate! We upgraded to a balcony from an obstructed outside and it was worth every penny. The cabin was clean, spacious and the bathroom spotless. The ship itself is bright, colourful and you can certainly still see the 'Hawaiian' theme throughout the ship but that's what makes this ship quiet unique. We paid for a drinks package and also the dining package. The speciality restaurants were superb and the food delicious. Cagneys steakhouse is a MUST for anyone as it was the best steak we had ever had. The Italian was also delicious food. Its nice that around the pool area there are also quiet areas with sun loungers if you want some peace from it all and soak up the sun. The hot tubs in my opinion had far too much chlorine in them, as soon as you got in they made your eyes sting and water very badly, however upon close observation of the crowds of people who were in them at anyone time I fully understand why ( one time we counted 16 people & children in one hot tub...and they stayed there for the majority of the afternoon)!! The white hot party which is on all Norwegian ships is a great get together for all ages and make sure you go in all white to get into swing of things. Our ports of call were Dubrovnik, Athens, Kusadasi and Split. If you want to see the old town of Dubrovnik make sure you DONT book the cruise excursion as it is very expensive. We caught a taxi waiting outside the terminal for 15euros and within 10/15 mins were dropped off outside the gates of the old town. The tour for the Acropolis in Athens was good and worth the $59 as was the Ephesus tour from Kusadasi for a similar price. If I have one grudge it was that we were not told close to the end of our cruise about the luggage labels needed for your disembarkation, so we missed out on being an early bird off the ship as we had a 12.00 noon flight but we made it in time for our flight. All in all an excellent ship with friendly staff, great food, good entertainment and above all - good value for money, we would certainly cruise Norwegian again and we would certainly go on board the Jade again.

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is a fantastic place

Venice

We stayed 2 nights in venice before embarkation. The hotel was excellent just behind St Marks Sq - couldn't have asked for anything better.

Split

It is a shame the ship doesn't call here before Dubrovnik. Split was lovely but not a patch on Dubrovnik. I am sure we would have enjoyed Split more had we not have seen Dubrovnik first.
