My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon cruise with the Independence of the Seas. We have been previous Carnival cruises and wanted to try a new cruiseline for this special time in our lives and from the second we walked into the ship we were pleasantly pleased with all the Independence at the offer.
Dinning in the formal dinning room was a real relaxing treat each night. Sure, it takes a bit to have your entire meal complete, but this is a vacation-what rush are you in? We loved our dinning staff who were happy to recommend dishes to us and bring us extras of anything we especially loved. Unfortunately our fellow patrons on the boat were not as kind to the dinning staff. We often heard very rude fellow cruises asking and demanding for certain things from the dinning staff. We noticed this type of attitude ALL over the boat! When sharing a table during breakfast, we were dumbfounded at what type of attitudes the other cruises were giving the waitstaff! Shame on you all for your egocentric thinking-the dinning staff was doing a great job with their tasks and getting a lot done to make the dinning experience as good as it could be!
The activites and ports of call were a real treat. We found success in booking our excursions before we got on the ship and encountered no problems getting on and off the ship multiple times a day at port.
Loved walking through Old San Juan and eating authentic food!
