Was in Berlin during an important soccer/football championship which made for a fun atmosphere!

We picked this cruise (and a river cruise in general) for a couple of reasons:

-The fact we'd only have to completely unpack once

-That the ships docked right in town, so easy access to sites

-That it included a lot of ports that we were interested in seeing

The problems were told to us as soon as we got on the boat in Magdeburg (by our outstanding, wonderful Program Director, Radim): the Elbe was too shallow and we couldn't go anywhere at least for the first night.We passed very few other ships near our size, though we did pass at least one other river cruise, another Viking vessel.

Cruise did not go as planned, but Viking staff worked hard to improve it.
