So, we've always cruised on Carnival but since the price was the same, we decided to change cruise lines and try another experience. We are a family of 4... wife and I in the 40's, and a 17 yo son with a 16 yo daughter. Booked 2 interior rooms on the 10th deck with the virtual balcony.
The rooms - seems a little smaller than Carnival but none of us noticed it. The virtual balcony was great. Made it seem as if you had an outside view even though it was just through the rear camera on the boat. Recommend it. Storage was fine and the hair dryer is in a drawer outside the bathroom...one of those good to know things. Shower is a round device but worked great. Plenty of room in the shower and bathroom...one at at time of course.
The ship...Navigator of the Seas has undergone the renovation and it certainly shows. It's a beautiful ship. The promenade deck is simply beautiful although somewhat short. You'll love the wine and beer bars there. Of course, that is where all the shops are at but I recommend you make a stop at your local drugstore at get all your needed first aid and sundries before you get on board.
You defintely don't want to reserve this room unless you really love your wife and you are into cramped quarters. Now, for me, it's got plenty of room but I've been quartered in Uncle Sam's "rooms" on many deployments but if your wife isn't into it, you might want to book a different room. It's just like any other interior, cheap, cabin, but it does have the virtual balcony which is really cool. You can watch the rear view of the ship and it also has the sound of the ocean which is a nice addition. No robes or amenities, so bring your own unless you ask the room steward and he/she brings them to you. No iron and the hair dryer is in the desk drawer outside the bathroom. Overall, I found the room to be more than satisfactorily but my level of expecation is not what some may be.
