Great cruise; some people expect too much for the price!

Sail Date: Jun 2015

I sailed on the Magellan from Tilbury on 4th June for a short cruise to Amsterdam and Antwerp.

I am a nervous driver so impressed at the ease of driving to port from my home in Rugby (M1,M25, short bit of A13, short bit of dual carriageway and then ship is in front of you - easy peasy!

Dropped suitcase off shipside and then told I needed to drive about a mile back inland to park car in Tilbury Container Port. Friendly staff at car park (very secure) and soon on shuttle bus back to ship.

Twin Cabin for Solo Use in my case. Nice size. Slightly noisy on first night - but settled down after that,

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

Ship docks pretty centrally at Cruise Terminal - easily walkable to Central Railway Station and area where canal trips leave from.

Been here before and done obligatory canal trip!

Last time I did the excellent Zoo - again walkable.

This time I did the excellent Maritime Museum - very close to where ship docks. Do it in the morning while replica galleon (very good) is still quiet and then still have time to so rest of museum and walk along some canals before getting back on board.
