We enjoyed our cruise ship experience with the smaller size of the vessel which allows for better customer service. The cabin stewards, Lido buffet servers and the Rotterdam restaurant workers are friendly, courteous, helpful and make you feel important and valued. The food was delicious and chef prepared with many choices for all types of palates. The ship has many systems for keeping things clean and ready-to-go are impressive from the food lines, to port disembarkation, to reserved seating, etc.
The Celtic musicians were impressive. We enjoyed the family comedy. The dancers were excellent. We loved the pool and pool area with the lounge chairs and whirlpool. The ping pong contests were fun and the basketball shootout. More competitions like that would be nice. The ship was luxurious and comfortable. We loved the Exploration cafe ( a quiet place to read and play chess ).
The only drawback was too much noise during the night which made it difficult to sleep well. I guess that is the one thing they cannot correct with so many passengers living in close quarters. I even had my ear plugs but the vibrations of doors banging, people running down the hall, etc. jolted me awake many times. We could even hear the toilets flushing.
We walked around on our own and loved the place as it looks so European! Beautiful place for photos. Visited the citadel, and also took a bike ride to Montmorency Falls. After seeing the Niagara Falls, this natural attraction did not impress as much. But the ride was a great way to get exercise. The bike trail can be confusing. We got lost due to lack of signage.
