This was my 3rd cruise to Alaska on NCL. Some folks ask me why I keep going back to Alaska. 1) Well, it's a beautiful state, 2) I love the cool weather as opposed to the hot n humid weather of the Caribbean, 3) there are always new excursions and things to see that I didn't see last time.
My first cruise was in 2003 on the NCL Norwegian Sun. My 2nd cruise was in 2011 on the NCL Pearl and this cruise that I'm now writing about was on the Jewel.
We booked an aft-facing penthouse cabin with extra-large balcony on deck 8. The cabin was in very good condition and included a butler and concierge. I can definitely say the extra money for the penthouse cabin was well worth it. Everything in the cabin worked as it should. The staff was very friendly and helpful and kept the room extra clean and organized every day.
