Ship was rundown, food was average, and service was OK.

This ship should be taken out of service for a maajor overhaul. Bathroom tiles were mildew stained. Vinyl on restaurant booths were torn Dining tables had cracks in Formica that collected dirt. Line cooks were nice unless you had a request then they were snippy. Buffet often closed early or opened late. Food variety was good and it looked great but was bland. Bar service was spotty. One of the chefs and one of the muscians obviously hated their job as they were miserable. Also I didn't like the fact that they often turned the cruise into a floating market by putting up tables to sell wares. Also several of the "activities" and "services" that they offered was just a ploy to get you to buy things. The only reason I didn't give it a one star is because the desk agents and stewards were great and they responded quickly to a broken AC unit and toilet.

Cabin Review

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin J

There is only ONE outlet in the cabin. Not feasible for today's technology. Lighting was dim and not well placed for doing hair or putting on makeup. The bathroom had mildew stains. The AC and toilet malfunctioned but was quickly fixed. Size was as expected...small but laid out well.

Port Reviews

Seward

Lovely town. Almost like a little art community. Cute houses. Nice people. Take the train from Anchorage. It was worth the 4.5 hour ride. Go to exit glacier if you have a chance.

Ketchikan

I enjoyed Ketchikan. I didn't do an excursion so I just walked around. Once you get away from the port area the shops get a little less cheesy. my friends went snorkeling and they loved it! It was their favorite excursion.

Glacier Bay

Beautiful of course. The weather was bad so we didn't see many whales or other marine life which was disappointing.
