Sail Date: May 2015
Cabin: Balcony

This was our first cruise.

Firstly - embarkation process very easy, simple and much easier than checking in at an airport. Cabin was ready for us on arrival and our Steward was there to welcome us aboard. He was so helpful and kept our room spotless.

Balcony was lovely and spacious and a sun trap on lots of days so we took advantage of room service (food was included and only a $3 service charge payable).

Balcony

Cabin BB

Spacious, clean, large balcony. This deck was quiet with cabins above and below and very little through traffic

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

FAB - took the Train to St Piedro (Closest to the Vatican City), spent some time there then again, took a Hop on Hop Off bus - great value for money and took in many sights. We visited the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain as well as Vatican.

NOTE: Give yourself plenty time to get back on the train as we got back to the boat at 6.30 which was the latest time we were allowed to embark.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Pretty Port - spent only an hour or so ashore in this pretty town as we were very tired. There is a little train that runs around and takes about 45 mins. Some guests took this and enjoyed the experience.

Barcelona

Have been to Barcelona before but this time we took a Hop on hop off tour and took in some great sites - good value for money. Got off at Nou Camp and had a lovely walk down Las Ramblas back to the shuttle bus. No need for organised tours in this port in my opinion.

Florence (Livorno)

Again, we disembarked and took the shuttle into town where we took an independant trip to Pisa which cost 15 euros each return (we teamed up with 6 others) - it was a beautiful destination - loved it and probably one of my favourite days.

Marseille

We had a bad experience here - took a later shuttle to the town with the aim of taking the train around town. However, our shuttle bus driver got lost and we had to ask him after a while to take us back to the boat as he has taken us through some etxremely rough "ghetto" type areas of Marseille so didnt actually get off the bus.

Gibraltar

Lovely - took the shuttle into town. Had a walk around the lovely town and took advantage of the tax free shopping. Also took an independant trip up the rock and visited the war tunnels, underground caves and of course the apes. In all, a lovely day
