This was my second cruise, my first one was on the Gem last year to the Bahamas. Which we thought was just amazing! After going to Bermuda, it was like night and day. When we boarded in Manhattan, we arrived at the terminal roughly around noon. We were on the ship by 1:00 pm. We went to the buffet and had lunch, and during that time we heard that out room was ready. We had a Spa Balcony room on the 14th floor. There was plenty of room for my wife and I. We then opened up the balcony door, which was fine, the balcony was smaller then the Gem, but didn't mind it. It's not like we were having dance parties out on it.
We then went to the Spa to check out the Salt Room, and the whole idea of going somewhere quiet was a breath of fresh air. We had the dining package which was fine. My only complaint was the time we chose, which was our fault. I wanted to see what the ship looked like at night. By the time we go out of dinner we were just too tired to go back outside and take pictures. Next time. Also, I totally loved the fact that adults can go without kids running into you or splashing you or dumping their ice cream on you because their parents are too lazy to tell them to behave. I picked that time of year because kids should be in school. I read one review and this person complained that their kids couldn't go to the adult section. Rule number one, rules are there for a reason. Rule number two, go back and read rule number one. A week later on the Gem a kid drowned because her parents weren't watching her. Certain parents think because they pay the money, it's an excuse for them not to watch them. Thank you Norwegian for enforcing the rules.
All the dinners were amazing with the dining package, the Cirque show was good, artist were athletic and the courses came out in timing with the show. Cagney's is always a good meal, get a filet mignon. The Wagyu sliders are out of this world, always cooked to perfect. Then came the French Restaurant, which was good, again I had a filet, cooked perfect med. rare, the deserts are amazing there also. Moderno Brazilian Steakhouse is a must ! Go hungry and you'll probably roll out. They keep coming with food, fresh off the spit and slice it for you. Then we ate Teppanyaki, which was fantastic. Overall, all the meals were great !
Loved the room, plenty of room in the bathroom. Lots of storage space. No complaints
