Booked obstructed view cabin on Emerald deck with free parking. Couple of new stops, Marseilles and Ajaccio in Corsica.

Embarkation was very smooth, very quick and the parking with parking4cruises was a breeze. Got on board about 12.30 and had a very good lunch, then went to find the cabin. We noticed an awful sewage stench as we walked along Emerald Deck corridor, when we got into the cabin it was even worse, unbearably so. We went down to customer services, joined a long queue and reported the problem explaining we were not prepared to stay in a sewage stenching cabin. It was explained to us the cruise was full and no other cabins were available but they would try and rectify the problem.

We returned the cabin and the lady in the next cabin was reporting similar problems to the steward who was explaining they were trying to do something about it, our cases had arrived but we didn’t really want to unpack them due to the awful smell in the room. We went up on deck, and then to muster drill where about 300 of us crammed into Sabatini’s and waited around 20 mins for the Captain to tell us that safety is the main priority. Ship then set sail for Barcelona.
