This was our 30th cruise, including another on the Sun. Food was awful. One night so salty I couldn't eat it. Waiter asked if there was something wrong with dinner, and I told him it was horrible, like they had spilled the salt in it and to go tell the Chef to taste it! On the train into Anchorage we sat with a couple who said the same thing. They couldn't eat it. Worst food we have ever had on a ship. One night in the dining room waiter never brought our salads and she brought sour cream for one person's baked potato and walked away, not even offering it to the rest of us, There was one girl who served us two nights that was great! Outside cabin small took quite awhile for steward to get to our room, but ok. He said he had been on for 8 years and was looking for another job on land. Overall staff didn't appear too happy. Loved the itinerary. Lucked out and had gorgeous weather and saw lots of wildlife. Enjoyed train rides. Fishing for King Salmon unproductive (they weren't in yet), but not because we didn't try. Shows were good. We are just discussing, as I write...we won't book Norwegian again unless it is the only company serving an itinerary we want. I should say we only booked week prior to trip, so we didn't have much of a choice of cabin (and made it just fine)...we just needed a getaway and hadn't been inland passage. Consider that there are many choices of cruise lines, Port fees and taxes were much more than the cabin.
