Very rapid embarkation- we had travelled to Southampton on an InterCruise coach and made very good time. Our first transatlantic cruise and I wasn't sure whether I would get bored. I needn't have worried- I had trouble fitting everything in! There were some interesting speakers on a range of topics. Food was excellent, good choice and quality- my hubby had steak 3 nights in a row and couldn't fault it. We only used the main dining room except for breakfast when we went to the buffet. Never had a problem finding seating unlike other ships we have been on.

The crossing was very smooth - apparently better than a lot - cabin was comfortable with good sized comfy bed and pillows. Standard size as was the shower room - one issue- shower curtain would be better replaced by a shower door or screen. No towel animals but a nightly turn down service and pillow chocolate. Never actually saw our cabin steward after first day but cabin was always serviced although the towels were only changed if they were left on the floor. I know it always says this will happen but it's the first time we have actually experienced it being carried through.

We had a Spa access package for 6 days which, in hindsight, would have been sufficient to just purchase 3 day package instead. Both had a spa treatment - my husband had a reflex but found it very painful but my massage was very relaxing. I do think their prices are rather over-inflated though or we might have had another. We enjoyed the daily line dancing classes which were good fun although there is no opportunity to do these outside of the class sessions- fortunately some might say. There was a different film shown each day at 2/3 different times but it always seemed to clash with something else so didn't get to experience the cinema. The plantatarium had 2 different shows which we enjoyed. Afternoon tea was a regular date for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Waiters were discreet but could be quite friendly when you interacted with them.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Standard size - comfortable. Shame that no access to account via the TV as on some other ships.
