This was the first cruise for most of us. Five family members on board ages 18-54. Boarding was little crazy and we had to step up and say we had priority boarding because of our accommodations - then things moved right along. Accommodations were very nice. I understand the ship is older than some but we had no complaints. Our concierge (Patrick) and butler (Maurice) were very helpful in making arrangements from excursions to daily needs. Both were professional and available whenever we needed them. Delma (cabin attendant) learned our names and addressed us personally every time we saw her. With the exception of one or two staff members, everyone we encountered was polite and friendly.

There is plenty to do on the ship with a wide variety of interests. The shows were awesome (wish we caught more). Gym was well equipped and great view. Did not take any classes. Spa was well received by members who used services. We dined in all the restaurants which helped add to the variety - some dinners were better than others but that is true anywhere. Seeing that you can eat about 20 hours out of the day, we were happy that there were healthy options (salad/fruit etc) almost all the time. We were off the boat for most of the port days doing excursions - not cheap but when will you get a chance to do some of these things again? Being on the inside passage kept seasickness at bay until we hit the open water the last two days. OTC medicine and the patch came in handy for that. Getting on and off the ship was easy. Connections readily available. May not cruise again because of seasickness but that is no reflection on Norwegian. We had an awesome time on our cruise/in Alaska!

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Mini-Suite

Great layout - plenty of storage for luggage/clothes etc. Bed was comfy as was pullout in living area. Curtains were great for keeping early sunrises out of room. Area was clean. Many comforts of home (tv/vcr/snacks). We were three people and sometime outlets became an issue with so many electronics to plug in.

Port Reviews

Vancouver

Boarded ship in Vancouver - very little interaction in town. There seems to be a lot within walking distance of port but we were only there to board the ship.

Glacier Bay

Views are awesome. Rangers were on ship giving information about how glaciers are formed etc. Ship stays in bay for few hours so no chance to miss the perfect photo and likely you will see/hear ice falling.
