This was our 2nd cruise with Princess, first time on the Regal Princess. We enjoyed the cruise however overall we preferred our experience on the Ruby. Our cabin was comfortable & certainly big enough for the 2 of us. There was plenty of hanging space & coathangers. The bathroom was small but that is to be expected & there are shelves for frequently used items. We were a little disappointed with the menu options in the anytime dining venues but the food was enjoyable. We dined once in Sabatini's but I felt we wasted our money. We tried to make a reservation & were told the only time available was 5.30pm which was too early but as it was the only night suitable to us we took it. The restaurant was virtually empty the whole time we were there & we were told we could stay as long as we wanted so we couldn't understand the early reservation. On the plus side it was much quieter than the other venues.

I do not like buffet meals & we only dine in Horizon Court when there was no other option i.e. formal nights & for breakfast on early shore excursion days. Hand sanitizers are placed at the entries to all eating areas however unlike the Ruby, there wasn't staff to enforce usage & we noticed that quite a few people didn't use them. We also found the lack of a central staircase to be a nuisance. Our cabin was on deck 15 midship & the elevators were usually full of people going up to or coming down from Horizon Court by the time it reached our floor. I was also surprised at the number of people carrying hot food & drinks in the elevators going down from the buffet.

Both embarkation & disembarkation were problem free. We did not take any shore excursions offered by Princess, we booked private tours in Berlin & St Petersburg & walked around the other ports on our own. We found most of the staff to be friendly & helpful. The complimentary drink in the casino on the last night was a nice touch.
