My son (almost 13) and I had a great time on the Majesty of the Seas. This was my second cruise with Royal Caribbean, and my ninth cruise (second for my son). We took the cruise knowing it was the oldest and smallest boat in Royal's fleet because the price was unbeatable for our sailing, and it mostly exceeded my expectations. We sailed on Vision of the Seas in October 2014, and while the Majesty is smaller, we found it had many of the things we loved on the Vision (although no Solarium or Park Cafe).

Embarkation was a breeze - we were on the ship in under 20 minutes of arrival at the Port of Miami. The ship did feel a bit overcrowded at times, especially on the pool deck (very hard to get a lounge chair as people put their things there and disappear for hours) and staterooms were smallest I've ever seen. Tiny but spotless and enough room for 2. Would be hard to have more than 2 in this room, pretty tight. Porthole provided nice views and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was very quiet except for the night a very drunk couple decided to have a fistfight outside our cabin door in the middle of the night. Located midship and we felt no motion at all.

We ate in the main dining room (My Time Dining) but had the same table and waiters each night. Most of the food was quite good and plentiful. Our waiter and his assistant were great, very personable and greeted us by name each evening. We ate at the Windjammer buffet for breakfast each morning and it was decent, but we did not enjoy the lunch we had there at all (not a great selection, some of the food was barely warm, and it was packed with people). My son enjoyed Sorrento's Pizza (we went there after the unsatisfying lunch attempt at the Windjammer) - I thought it was ok and better than the lunch buffet.

Port Reviews

Miami

Stayed night before and after cruise to visit with friends in Miami. As always, Miami is a fun city to visit with great food and pretty much anything you can think of to do. Easy to get to port with reasonable shuttle cost
