After having cruised on quite a few Celebrity ships including Equinox and Eclipse we were expecting high hopes of Reflection. The ship is lovely. Could not fault stateroom (balcony); décor modern; fixtures and fittings excellent. However, food quality in Opus dining room let it down. Quite a few times meals had to be sent back as only luke warm. Presentation was not as good as in previous cruises and dining there was not a great or exceptional experience as it should be. The Assistant Maitre D in Opus had the patience of a saint in dealing with our table of 8 and was the star of the dining room staff. The food in the Oceanview was much better. Fresh bread, cakes and pastries to die for. We dined in Murano on our last night where food and service was excellent, we wish we had tried this more often. We did get a discount on the cost of this as there was 8 of us in our party, so, worth asking for. We were disappointed that staff are always asking if we wanted to pay extra for services that should be included. Money making is obviously to the fore. Bearing in mind that cruising is expensive on any level it seems that Celebrity are trying to catch up to the likes of Cunard. Why is Michaels Club 'exclusive' now, there was no one in there the whole time we were on board. On previous cruises it had been used for events open to all, it should be again. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss. Company shows were good, singers very good. Visiting entertainers could be better. The shows have moved times to 7pm and 9pm and because we had the late sitting for dinner, 8.45pm, we were always missing out on most of the good entertainment. We are not trying to be negative, but pointing out that cruising on Celebrity used to be really 5* but sadly not anymore. Now its just an average 4*.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 2B

Cabin 2B

Cabin on deck 6 forward so a long walk to everywhere but balcony had a corner view as well as looking outward which although we could see other balconies and they us, it was worth it. There was a service door next to our cabin but it was no problem. Bathroom and shower the biggest so far, but we had to ask for toiletries, even though brochures say that these are standard in all cabins and more towels as only 2 small and 2 even smaller towels issued initially.
