Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Embarking the ship was poor, when you arrive at Civitavecchia Railway Station there is no directions and no one there to assist. After we walked towards the port and found our own way, there is a bus from the start of the terminal to take you to the ship, as seen it is a working port, you cannot walk all the way.

We did a 21 night Mediterranean cruise. first part of the cruise include the following ports; Florence, Monte Carlo, Toulon, Barcelona, Valencia, Cagliari, Palermo, Naples then back to Rome. Second part of the cruise included; Olympia, Athens, Ephesus, Istanbul, Naples and back to Rome. My wife and I enjoyed the first leg of the cruise much more then the second. The next time we cruise Eastern Mediterranean will be through Santorini and Crete etc, as we were told on board by other passengers it is much more picturesque.

Activities and entertainment on board were equal to that of RC or Celebrity. Main dining and buffet were similar to that of RC, unless you were over 55, it seemed impossible to get a window seat in the Grand Pacific Dining Room. It seemed that they were reserved for older passengers. Blue Lagoon reasonable for a light snack 24 hours a day, service was good.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Cabin was spacious, plenty of storage space especially for a long cruise. Bath in the bathroom was excellent, was well used on a winter cruise through the Mediterranean. Our cabin steward was excellent and went beyond his job to make us fell welcome and comfortable, well done.

Port Reviews

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

The home of the rich, famous and probably the infamous. We walked this city and enjoyed I very much. We left the ship and port area and walk towards the Musee Oceanograhique De Monaco then along to walk way through the gardens to the St Nicholas Cathedral onto the Prince's Palace for the changing of the guard. To the right of the Palace take the stairs down to the main part of the city. We the walked along the harbour towards the Yacht Club and then up to the Casino. The Casino is nothing special, however a must to see. Great place to visit.

Florence (Livorno)

When you leave the ship, take a train to Livorno if you are going to Pisa. Other passengers took a bus to Florence, then down to Pisa on a bus. However they said it was rushed.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a must. When you view it from different angles it looks clos to straight to leaning a long way. The Cattedrale Di Pisa and Battistero di San Giovanni are within a few metres of each other. walk through the arch way to the rear of the Battistero di San Giovanni and directly to your left is a great place for a glass of wine and slice of pizza.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Try to take the express train from Civitavecchia to Roma Central as it certainly will give you extra time to explore. We saw the Colosseum, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain in one day. Buy an all day bus pass, which is a great way to get around. To see everything in Rome you would need at least a week, we will be back to see more. Rick Steves has a great app for the Colosseum.

Barcelona

What a city!!!!!. We only had a day here which is certainly not enough. We will be back and want to see in more detail Sagrada Familia, Gothic Quarter, Park Guell, and La Boqueria Markets.
