This was a 25th wedding anniversary trip. We took the package that gave us an extra day in Barcelona before boarding. The hotel was a bit rustic but the location was perfect with easy access to transportation, sites, and great tapas restaurants. RCL had a concierge who superbly recommended a tour and restaurants.

We knew the ship was old and it did show a few signs of wear and tear. That being said, service was superior. Our room steward, waiters in the dinning room, and port destination guide were all excellent. A note to those who see the negative Windjammer reviews. We found the buffets very good in both quality and selection. You do have to use a bit of common sense. If it looks like it has been sitting in a chafing dish, don't take it. The restaurant was excellent. Not quite the quality of NYC five star restaurants. But our waiters always steered us in the right direction. We took advantage of a wine package as we knew we could not drink enough to justify the other alcoholic beverage packages.

We booked excursions through RCL. They all featured guides who made the experience worth the cost. Exclusively Rome was worth the money. The morning walk in Florence was perfect leaving time to find a great local restaurant. The motor launch and Pompei trip was awesome. Again plenty of time to explore on your own. Did the Acropolis tour in Athens. Quite impressive. Biggest surprise was Turkey. The tour featuring the visit to the house of the Virgin Mary and the ruins of Ephesus was great with one exception. I recommending skipping the lunch and carpet store option. It was a tourist trap.

Cabin D2

Cabin showed age. That being said, we thought it was spacious and had plenty of storage room.
