We were 1st time Royal Caribbean cruiser’s on this 8 night Norwegian Fjords trip on Explorer of the Seas. We were a little worried having read many reviews of the ship following it’s recent dry dock and having been on nine previous cruises we are also wise enough to know that people rate things in different ways.
We chose to drive and left the North West of England at 4:40am so were very surprised to have a simple and great trip and with just two toilet stops and one coffee stop we arrived in the car park at 9:30am. A short walk and into the terminal and a very smooth embarkation process and a short wait in the lounge and we were one of the first few hundred on board.
We had a good chance to explore before it got busy and we had a coffee and sandwich in the café on the promenade. We explored all around the ship and got our bearings of the ship which was very handy and were met with a warm welcome from all the staff we came across.
Cabin Review
Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony
This is a nice cabin, larger than a few other ships we have sailed, new carpet, flat screen TV a decent bathroom with shower with rounded closing doors that was excellent. There was plenty storage for all our clothes and other things and case was then dispatched under the bed which was handy as it does not clutter the room. My wife was a little disappointed with the toiletries supplied in comparison to previous cruises with other companies. Also no bath robes was a first on this cruise. Cabin steward first rate and very helpful, he always had time for you too.
