NCL is under “new management”. That includes a service charge of $8.00 to deliver food to your room. There is a 3% charge to convert your cash to casino coins and if you want to swim or use the steam room there is a daily charge for use of these “exclusive” facilities. There is no pool open to adults on the new NCL Breakaway other than the private for pay adult pool as the only public pool is a huge kiddie pool complete with a full water playground for the kiddies and 3 four deck high water slides. The rooms are 30% smaller to pay for the cost of the ship built just last year. Other cost saving measures include reducing the size of the theater to 25% of the guests aboard (900 seats for 4000 passengers) and similarly reducing available beach chairs. People circle around and around as if in a crowded parking lot looking for a space. There are 22 restaurants you can “buy” dinner at and as an incentive to raising cash from the restaurants the food served without charge includes instant eggs, frozen fish, frozen chicken, frozen potatoes, frozen tacos, etc.. The buffet amazingly managed to produce carbohydrates from every known ethnicity and little else. Deck chairs are scarce but seating in the bars is plentiful. The question remains if the “new management” is the “new cruising”?

Balcony Stateroom

30% smaller than other ships. Balcony smaller than a guest closet. The chair must be turned sideways to avoid knocking your knees.
