This was the first cruise experience for my teenage sons and my husband; the 4th Bermuda cruise for me (3 HAL, 1 Cunard). The HAL transfer from Logan airport to the port was seamless, but when we boarded the ship it was apparent that the vast majority of passengers were senior citizens. We assumed this was due, in part, to school not yet being out in most states, an assumption seconded by the few passengers in our age group that we met.

We enjoyed the luxury of having lattes in the Internet cafe, which had comfy chairs and a decent selection of books. We did not, however, use the on-board Wi-Fi service because it was cost prohibitive. My sons played basketball on the "sports deck" and ping pong by the pool (our favorite on-ship activity). A small but decent-looking "teen room" with video gaming capability was available, but we did not use it. Aside from a magnificent Indonesian buffet/party on the Lido deck, we did not participate in any other on-ship activities (the age disparity being the primary reason why).

The cabin was clean and comfortable but not remarkable in any way. The ship's interior decor was outdated-1970's style and a little depressing. The exterior--blue/white vintage style with wooden deck chairs--was, however, very appealing. The impeccable service and excellent food in the main dining room (and buffet for the most part) made up for what the ship lacked in "personality."

Large Ocean-View Stateroom

Comfortable bed; spacious; otherwise unremarkable
