This was our first time Holland America line, and some of the reviews were a little scary. Ship was older but nice. Not run down, and modern decor.

I enjoy cruise entertainment, but the entertainment on this ship was pretty awful. There were a few nights of really good shows, but the others were really bad.

We enjoyed the food. The buffet was limited in selection, but what they had was very well done. We ate ate the restaurant for dinner each night, and we enjoyed the varied menu options each night. Room service breakfast was also quite nice! There was only one real specialty restaurant so dinner choices were very limited.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

So much to do and see! Great food! If you can get to an authentic Flamenco show it is worth the effort. Tappas everywhere. Great architecture. Sagrada famiglia!

Saint-Tropez

Hired private taxi to beach. Had a great lunch. Another taxi to Port Grimaud. Little Venice? Not really, but still very nice. Taxi service was hard to find outside the port.

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

Very nice shops, scenery. Grand Prix! Casino and luxury cars! Lots of good shopping in old town but it's a hike. Worth it! Grand Prix closed roads to Casino so we missed out on that!

Naples

Hired a private taxi, went to Pompeii! personal tour, very nice! Good pizza! Taxi driver took us on a tour of the city, and dropped us at a local restaurant for pizza. We loved it.
