This was our third cruise, first with Carnival. We were on a five night cruise on the Carnival Elation out of New Orleans with stops in Cozumel and Progreso. Overall, we were not impressed with our experience with Carnival.

***Carnival Elation: The ship is need of updating. The internal colors are dated. The entire ship, inside and out needs repainted. On other cruises, we witnessed staff constantly conducting maintenance and upkeep, but not on the Elation. We had an outside cabin on the ship. The windows were filthy and difficult to see out of. The TV sets are dated tube TVs. A positive note is the Serenity Deck on the boat, sectioned off for adults 21 and older. This was our favorite part of the ship. It was quiet and relaxing, even when it was busy. Staff did a great job of keeping the kids out of that area of the ship.

***Activities: The Elation did have a nice array of fun activities. The activities staff are fun and entertaining. Kudos to the staff! We loved the 80s Hair Band Trivia and the Karaoke with the live band! So fun! If you have kids, they do have a nice assortment of activities for them.
