Just got home from our first Seabourn cruise and it won't be our last. We sailed on the Odyssey from Venice to Istanbul, 14 days. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The food was delicious and way too plentiful. The wines were good but the mixed drinks were just average.

We enjoyed this itinerary it was very port intensive. We did make good use of our time and were almost always back to the ship by 2P.M. ate lunch and then either worked out or relaxed.

As with anything you get what you pay for and although Seabourn was expensive we felt we got our money's worth.

Cabin Review

Suite

Cabin A1

The cabin is the same size as the Verandah Suites just without a Verandah. Loved the walk in closet. We liked watching the sea go by out of our window. The bathroom was nice sized and perfectly stocked with amenities.

The one drawback to the small ship was noise. When we pulled in to port early in the A.M. you could definitely hear the bow thrusters. I suspect they were heard throughout the ship as we talked to people in higher cabins and they said they heard the noise as well.

The one negative thing about this cabin was the steam pipes. They run overhead on this side of the ship not just over this cabin. They produced a clanging noise like someone banging on metal. I do not know if that happened on the other side of the ship in this category cabins but if you are considering a cabin on Deck 4, you may want to think about this. If booking a cabin on Deck 4, I would suggest the Starboard side. If you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs. Next time we will go up one floor.
