Sail Date: May 2015
Cabin: Mini-Suite with Balcony

The Norwegian Sun is a beautiful ship and we had a great balcony room, 1215. Plenty of room for three adult women. Beds were very comfortable. We had perfect weather May 25 thru June 1, 2015. The staff was polite but not friendly. Alaska is incredibly beautiful. We saw many eagles and multiple whales. We did three excursions through the ship, zip lining in Ketchikan, whale watching in Juneau and the train from Seward to Anchorage. They were all great. If you book you excursions later in the morning or early afternoon you won't be in the midst of everyone leaving the ship. The ship never felt crowded even though it was fully booked. The freestyle dinning was nice especially if you don't have a lot of dress clothes or you are just more casual. The food is good but not great. Items on the menu do not change daily. 1-3 items might change. There are plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. The specialty restaurants were very good. We had dinner at La Cucina and Teppanyaki. If you have food restrictions(vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free etc) your choices are limited. Let NCL know before the cruise and they will cook items to order(need 24 hour notice- order the night before - dinner only) for your restriction but your options are very limited.
