im just back from this cruise on adonia due to bad weather gail force winds 2 ports were canceled rosendal and eidjford as the captain and pilots all thought it was unsafe. we left on friday 29th a sea day on the saturday we arrived on sunday at stavanger a nice port the sun was out but we had been warned that very fiew shops would be opend and this was true had a nice wallk and found the local museum had a restaraunt where we got a coffee the only one i would have of the ship for the rest of the week.....we found workmen putting barriers out as we went round which was for the tour de fjords which we manage to watch the closing stages from our balcony cabin..

the monday was rosendal a rough night at sea and then we arrive in rosendals fjord ready to anchor only to be told after an hour and a bit of waiting for the weather to calm down that it wasn't safe and that we would be leaving and have to abandon the port this announsment was made about 9am the entertainment crew worked wondersto entertain us we had tom o'connor on the cruise and christine the entertainments manager sloted an extra slot in with him god knows how he had stood in the middle of the dance floor during the previous nights rough sea he was a pro and stayed in there for 2 shows with the ship bouncing everywhere she did a chat with him which was also put out on the tv which was very good at about midday as tom o'connor finished he's impromptu show the captain came back through the speakers saying he couldn't dock at eidjford as he would need tugs with the state of the fjords as same kane (linda lusadis husband) another entertaiment act who was on on monday night put it the fjords were closed as part of the announcement he said we were now going to bergen instead so bergen we got going to arriving at 6pm monday and staying till 6pm tuesday i woke on tuesday to an overcast day i went on the flobanen mountain train which was ok till i got to the top and the weather turned i was soaked by the time i got back on the train so not a good day of to Haugesund we went better weather seemed to be possible as we docked the sun was out until i went into town and it poored down again we ended up doing the sailaway in the crows nest as it was very windy ad cold..

the madness of it all was we got into the sea on wednesday and the sun came out and it was nice and not very bumpy... Read more
