Amazing structure with beautiful mosaics.Once a Christian church-then a mosque-all christian icons were plastered over.They were uncovered when it became a museum.

Istanbul is not really a one day city but the must see sites are within walking distance of each other.Consider a private tour-the ship is docked nearby.The mosque we saw was nice but really wanted to see the Blue Mosque or Sulieman.

Rather expensive tour which included a good but forgettable lunch.Guide spoke superb English.Felt we could have seen more with a smaller tour but had never been to Istanbul so were reluctant to book independently.There is such a fear of the ship sailing without you etc.but port is not far from city centre.

We did a half day tour with Barcelona Day tours(with our luggage safely onboard) which took us inside Park guell, Monjuec and outside of Sagrada Familia.If you have booked private tour leave in plenty of time and wait for the very slow shuttle service.
