Traveled with children

We traveled with a family of 10, including 3 kids ages 6 months, 2 yrs, and 3 years old. We drove up from Maryland to NYC. Embarkation was a smooth and easy process. We boarded around 12 noon so we beat the rush which was great with 3 young kids. We settled into our 3 interior staterooms which were as close to each other as possible. Our stateroom attendant, Rustam, was wonderful. Very attentive and addressed each one of us by name as often as possible.

Headed up to Lido deck for lunch. Food wasn't the best because it looked like leftover food that was just about to go bad that was served to us that day. Otherwise the Lido buffet food was pretty good. For dinner, a lot of things offered in the dining room during dinner time was served at the buffet as well.

I registered my oldest son into camp carnival. They gave us a cell phone so we could be easily reached. I read some reviews saying that camp carnival wasn't accomodating and would call for the smallest reasons. I didn't feel that way. The counselors were friendly and understood that kids were kids. We got called a once during his second time there because our son apparently was hitting the other kids in class. We talked to him about it and he didn't do it again. Another time he had an accident. We got him changed and put him back in camp. There was no way to make sure they were doing all the activities stated on the daily program guide unless you were constantly checking in on them. My kid isn't one to tell me details of what he did that day but he expressed he like "ship school" well enough. When our middle child, who turned 2 on the ship, was old enough to join we put him in camp too. He wasn't too keen on being left alone there with his older bro but we never got called to come pick him up because he was inconsolable or anything along those lines -- which I think goes to show that they do try their best to make sure the kids have fun and the parents have fun too
