Thinking about taking a cruise with your kid? Are you two young'ish parents wondering if cruising with a little one will make for one quite different vacation? Well, you're in good company. Here's the quick summary: Great family trip, wonderful memories, lots of sleep, zero privacy, not much shmooglin with the wife, and crazy long formal dinners that aren't designed to keep your 3 year old sane. Now, to the story...

My wife and I have been on 3 cruises together. One on Norwegian and two on Carnival. Our recent trip was in May 2015 out of Charleston, SC port for a 5 day cruise on Carnival Fantasy ship to the Bahamas. We had two port of calls at Freeport and Nassau. Well, here are some tips to consider as your packing. Don't wait until you get to Charleston or in your car/minivan/SUV/whatever. Consider these:

1. There are no plugs in the bathroom (at least this ship)

Cabin details in review. I will say the closet is nice. The bathroom was decent except for no lightbulb in the shower and no plug in in the bathroom. The master bed was comfortable but there is no divider in the room. The balcony was nice, but we could do without. The refridgerator was not very cold.
