This was our second Carnival Cruise, and our first time on the Victory. We had a great time, and I'd like to give just a few helpful pointers for those who are booking this ship, so that you'll be even better prepared.

#1: Do the Chef's Table option for sure. It was the highlight of our cruise, and perhaps the best $75 that I've ever spent. We were treated like celebrities and given a tour of the kitchen, where we tested several gourmet appetizer creations, while being served champagne. Then, we headed off to the Library, where our table was secluded and we had a staff of about 8 people waiting on the 7 of us (including the chef, sous chef and pastry chef). We went through about 12 courses in total, and everything was top-notch gourmet and including white and red wines along the way. Amazing! Don't miss it...seating is limited.

#2: There are three new bars. Alchemy, Sky Box and The Irish Pub. They are surely the freshest and most updated areas on the ship. They are also the best kept secret for excellent craft-style drinks. I would say Alchemy is our favorite, and I recommend grabbing a cocktail there before/after your daily dinner. The staff at these bars are also very knowledgable of drinks and recipes. You do not want to get drinks from the pool bars or other interior bars...go to one of these three only, preferably Alchemy. Oh, and the drink special at this bar all qualify for the Cheers program.
