I looked forward to this cruise since booking it months in advance. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes (for a supervisor) to go onboard because they had my cabin assignment incorrect. Luggage arrived at 7pm (couldn't shower or change for dinner). Had to ask 5 people where the life boat drill was being held before getting the correct location. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable I had to miss an onshore excursion due to terrible back pain and leg cramps. Cabin valet said there was nothing he could do about my late luggage or the terrible bed. They had the wrong person's name assigned to my cabin for the whole trip. All of the public bathrooms had only cold water and 1/2 of the soap dispensers were empty. The food at the buffet was cold, greasy and not seasoned well. Murano served rancid venison. The chef said it was fine and I didn't know what wild game tasted like. My expensive bottle of wine turned to vinegar because they didn't use a proper wine cork. They used the original cork. I told them to toss 1/3 of the bottle. Onshore excursions were a joke. 1st one the guide got us back late to the ship- it had to wait for us so that it could leave port. 2nd one the guide had a thick Norwegian accent and spoke extremely fast. I couldn't understand her. Decided to leave the tour early and spent 200 euros on a taxi to take me back to port. Guest relations wouldn't give me their fax number so I could call my doctor to get a signed prescription for medication I ran out of on the trip. I had to wait 2 hours to see the ship's doctor. I informed a Celebrity representative about my eventful cruise when I returned home. She offered me an apology and nothing else. UGH!!! On a positive note- 5 of the crew members were spectacular (I mentioned them by name to the rep) and the food in Silhoutte was fabulous.
The layout of the cabin was fine. The bed however was awful.
