This was our first cruise on Celebrity and we were very happy with the Solstice. She's a beautiful ship and impeccably maintained. Both my wife and I commented a few times on how clean not only our cabin was but how the entire ship was spotless. We had a veranda on deck 7 midships, very nice cabin with plenty of storage, a very comfortable bed, and nice chairs to enjoy outside. We left the door open each evening and what a treat to go to sleep listening to the sounds of the ocean sliding by outside.

We felt the food in the main dining room was very good, our last cruise was on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Sea and my wife felt the food on Solstice was a bit better. We tried both the Murano and the Tuscan Grill, the food and service in Murano was outstanding. The service in the Tuscan Grill was excellent as well but the food was a bit of a disappointment however you really need to eat here just to enjoy the view out the stern of the ship, it's amazing! I felt the speciality restaurants on the Oasis were a touch better then the ones on Solstice overall.

The ports have been covered by others but the one additional comment I want to make focuses on the Tracy Arm Fjord. This really is one of the most beautiful spots on earth and kudos to Celebrity for using cleaner fuel when going into the fjord as well as respecting the quiet areas and not making outside announcements. This doesn't look to me like an easy spot to get a ship like Solstice into, it's pretty narrow in spots with literally 90 degree turns required. At times you are so close to the cliff walls that you can almost literally reach out and touch them. Also Captain Taramas did an amazing job of even getting up past the island at the far end of the fjord so we were closer to Sawyer Glacier. The experience of having the ship spin almost in place to come back out was pretty cool!
