From beginning to end the cruise was very good, and this was our sixth time on the Equinox. We have cruised Celebrity a lot, mostly in C1 or C2 and have been on most of the ships. Most everyone is aware of the limited storage space in the C and AQ cabins, but we have learned to cut back and bring only the important stuff___and do laundry on the ship (complimentary with Elite class, I think. Only had one pair of shorts come back the size of a hand puppet...and it was nylon?? Not a big deal.)
Our favorite restaurant was Silk Harvest---always has been, and Tuscan grill is great with more food that I could devour. Blu, on the other hand, started off very well in the food category, but then fell off, some nights by a lot. But it did get better on the last night. Our waiter tried to steer us through the menu, but not all of his choices were what I would care for. Service was always very good, Once you are assigned to a wait staff group, you will be with them during the cruise unless you request otherwise. Breakfast was very good, but the eggs always came back "very well done" as were my "medium" steaks at dinner. Some of the entres were not good at all. Like frozen food heated up. As a result, there were nights when my wife and I simply opted for the Oceanview cafe...a sad thing to do but we knew there were good things there to fill out a dinner. Blu is a beautiful restaurant, and the attentive staff were always there. But, not sure what happned in the kitchen. We will try Blu again on the Eclipse in a few months, and hope it works out better. We can always fall back on selective seating if it doesn't.
Getting on and off the ship worked out very well, and it had been a while since we had done the western trek. I think I like it more than the eastern side right now. We still have lots more to see in Costa Rica, Beleize, Panama, and Grand Cayman. Always fun at Jimmy Buffet's on Grnd Cay and Coz.
Standard cabin, in good condition, no complaints. Cabin steward and his partner were very good, friendly and contacting thes is easy if we needed to. I have always been on the starboard side of ships before, this was my first port cabin. That seemed different to me. Odd.
