Sail Date: May 2015

Not our first cruise, but first ever on any Carnival ship and first out of Galveston even though we live in Texas. Previous cruises have been with Royal Caribbean sailing out of Florida so of course, I was doing a lot of compare and contrast during our voyage.

We spent the night in Pearland (Houston) the night before sailing, we live in Central Texas and did not want to risk getting caught in Houston’s morning commute. Parking is plentiful around Galveston Pier and shuttles are on the ready to haul you and your luggage to the cruise terminal.

Galveston

We got on and off in Galveston, no excursions but the Galveston Pier is a beautiful structure that dates to 1927. You can feel the history. The staff at the terminal are very well trained and informative. Not once did we get "I don't know" for an answer. Very pleased with Galveston embarkation and disembarkation.
