This was my husband's and my first cruise and to say to summarize the experience we were not impressed at all. I checked the "average" rating as we had no other cruise to compare it to. Our room, which was a mini suite with the balcony, was satisfactory and our steward was also helpful and efficient. I was very happy that we paid the extra money for the extra room with the balcony as the sites were amazing throughout the cruise. The only unfortunate experience in our room was that we were located below the Splash Academy and the noise continued until 10:30 PM. It's a fun time for all and it should be, however, I thought the party for young children should have ended earlier.

Due to a norovirus on the previous cruise, we were sprayed wherever we went. We understood the necessity in doing so, however, it certainly became annoying by the 3rd day. The buffet was the most annoying due to the fact that you could not serve yourself, the stations were understaffed and your food was cold by the time you sat down. Further, the portions given were small and when asked for more the response was either not understood or with annoyance. The food overall was not very good and not worth the second portion or the hassle to stand in line again for plate, etc. We did not purchase the dining package but were relatively satisfied with the 2 restaurants included in our package. However, these restaurants were not opened for a very long period of time especially with respect to breakfast and lunch. And speaking of hours, where was the 24 hours of food???? The only restaurant that was opened for 24 hours was apparently O'Sheehan's and that food was terrible. There is however a good thing about the food being average to poor -- both my husband and I did not gain any weight!!!

All in all the service was lacking. One evening as we were at the Java Cafe, my husband brought to the attention of the bartender that the tonic was bad. The bartender tasted the tonic and agreed, however, he was charged for that drink anyway. It also appeared that the bartenders lacked in their knowledge of making simple cocktails. A whiskey sour was a challenge both at the Java Cafe and the casino. Either too much sour or too much whiskey. When sitting in the lounge in the Atrium, my husband went to the bar to get another drink and was told that he had to do so from a server. The server already went passed him twice without asking if he wanted another drink. Finally, after another 20 minutes someone came to our table.
