This was our first Viking Cruise. We added two days in Barcelona through Viking and were met in the airport baggage claim area at 7:00 a.m.. We were whisked off to the hotel and given our room immediately. There were Viking people in the lobby to help us get around Barcelona easily, even giving us instructions how to use the metro. Viking then transported us to the ship where we quickly went through embarkation. The next day we used the included tour of Barcelona so we were able to see more of the city.

The ship is lovely, with clean lines and soft colors. There are plenty of places to sit quietly and read or just stare out at sea. My husband and I walked the unobstructed promenade every day-it is 4 times around for a mile. As we got further north, it became a brisk walk indeed.

Although the crew is new to the ship and to Viking, they always had good attitudes and were very friendly. In speaking with some of them, they came from other cruise lines or hotels and just need some time to gel into a team. The bar staff needs a little work to improve their performance.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

The room was nice. They provided water, sodas and candy in the refrigerator and binoculars to see the sights. The bathroom was great for a ship's cabin. There was enough storage for us. The room steward was wonderful and got us whatever we needed. The location of the room was great-right near the stairs.
