The Alaskan cruise provided us with almost everything that we had hoped for. Having had 20 cruises with other lines, we saw this cruise and it was too good to pass on.
The ship : marvellous; the crew : fantastic; the itinerary : delightful; the food : apart from Le Bistro we found it bland with little variety in the menus; the management : ?? In all of our previous cruises we were able to disembark at a time suitable to our flight, even able to sit in any of the lounges, on deck, or in the bars. We accept that the cabins need to be vacated, but we ere thoroughly disappointed by the apparent attitude of "we've had your money, now get off!" We even asked Guest Services what options were available, only to find that this area had been wrongly named. Lack of Service, or interest, would have been more appropriate. A 9.30 am disembarkation, with a 6.30pm flight, meant a very long day, bearing in mind the 9 hour flight from Vancouver to London.
The food and disembarkation were the only areas stopping this rating from being out of this world, but were significant enough for us to comment upon.
Probably the best cabin we have had on any cruise.
Flew into the city for the night prior to our cruise and had 9 hours to look around before our return home. Fabulous city, well worth visiting. the hop on, hop off bus allowed us to see a good proportion of the attractions.
Travelling in by tender, we just looked around Icy Strait point, soaking in the atmosphere. Whilst we did not participate in an organised trip, we still thoroughly enjoyed our day.
