When boarding the Emerald Star I was greeted by a professional presented crew offering us champagne. This was appreciated after an eight hour journey by bus from Paris.
The cabin was immaculate, comfortable, with a space for table and two chairs and a window. There could have been more room in the wardrobe for two people's clothes and there was only one line in the shower to hang up washing. There were options of a laundry system and a special which would suit a second person in any cabin. My cabin was a category C.
After a relaxing day one, our cruise proved a busy one with a well planned itinerary by our Cruise Director Marcus. We had our drill being shown how to put on life jackets.
It could have been more spacious for the money paid, however there were table and chairs and a window for fresh air. Fly screens would be an improvement as a misquito tried to rest on our window. The ward robe was too small for two people.
The hairdryer was provided, shower gels and shampoos and gowns for the pool and slippers.
Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Sleeping was no problem.
Everything was so clean.
