We have just returned from a weeks cruise on Britannia to the Norwegian Fljords.
Prior to our cruise we spent time reading through countless reviews about how awful the ship is, which made us feeling apprehensive and worried our holiday would be a disaster. How wrong were we?
To us, the ship was impressive. Large, stylish and elegant. Our cabin was more than sufficient for our needs as we didn't spend much time in it. The bed is very comfortable! Yes, the balcony is quite small but as we were in the Norwegian fjords we didn't do much sun bathing on it. Great selection of bars and resturants onboard, evening entertainment of a good standard. Day time entertainment programme needs some improvement. Food In all resturants was of a good standard, especially the epicurean which we thoroughly enjoyed. Horizon buffet is laid out very well, there was never a problem getting a table. As to hygiene onboard, we were always prompted by staff to use the hand gel. There are big sinks at the buffet, which everyone used to wash hands. All staff onboard are an asset to P and O, they were always polite and attentive. I was appalled and frankly ashamed to be british by the way some fellow passengers spoke to the crew. They are there to help, and work damn hard. Another thing we noticed were passengers comparing the ship to others constantly, moaning about every small detail in just about every public area. We found this quite draining after a while, how about look for the positive instead and enjoy your holiday?
Small but perfectly adequate for a cruise ship, very clean and functional. Onboard account not accessible through tv which is a shame, as like to keep an eye on spends.
