Sail Date: May 2015

My family and I just got off of the Carnival Liberty yesterday, and had a good time. A little background: we had four family members, two individuals in their 20's and two in their 40's-50's. We have all done 3+ cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, all with Carnival. I read many reviews on this website prior to setting sail, and I really appreciated the thorough reviews. I will try my best to make this as thorough as possible, for the people like me!

Day of Travel: San Juan: (May 17): We had difficulties with our connecting flight from Chicago O’Hare to the airport in San Juan. Our flight ended up being delayed 5 hours, which would've caused us to miss our prepaid Carnival transfer from the airport to the terminal. We called Carnival and we were told that the shuttle only accommodates flights landing before 6:30 pm, and ours landed at 6:36 pm. Carnival told us to take a taxi if the Carnival shuttle wasn't present and we would be reimbursed for the cost as well as our shuttle cost. Since there were about 20 cruisers on the delayed flight the shuttle ended up waiting for us, which was amazing! However since we arrived to the port a little later than 7:30 pm we couldn't take advantage of San Juan at all. We got on board and headed right to the buffet on the Lido deck. The food was okay, slightly mushy, but that is what you get with a buffet. The muster drill (safety drill discussing life boats and life jackets) was actually one of the quickest we have experienced. After the muster drill we watched the ship leave port from the balcony of one of the rooms. On the day of sailing there is a Sail Away party on the top deck with a dj and dancing. Two of our family members decided to head up there and watch the Sail Away party from the hot tub. Given that the cruise leaves out of Puerto Rico about 80% of the cruise passengers are indeed Puerto Rican. This was when we got the first taste of what that meant. The dj at the Sail Away party only played songs that were club mixes and only sung in Spanish. At the start of every song the Puerto Rican passengers would get very excited and start performing the appropriate line dance associated with the song. This was fun for the first few songs however as an English only speaking passenger this grew old after a half hour, and even more so after an hour. We didn't appreciate Carnival's lack of care to cater to ALL cruise passengers.

Day 2, St. Thomas:

Cabin Review

Cabin I have no clue

Interior room, well kept. Could feel the ship moving but in a good way.
