My wife and I sailed 5/9 (Western Caibbean) on the Oasis. Traveled from New Smyrna Beach which is a three and a half hour trip on the Fla turnpike. This was our 6th cruise and 4th with RCCL. Had an issue with embarkation as the camera system failed, we had to wait an hour and a half to board. Glitches happen, however you would think the system would have been checked prior and that RCCL would have redundant systems. The ship is a bit large for our taste, however very easy to navigate. We found that we prefer the smaller ships like the freedom but if you like to cruise you have to try it at least once. Although large it never felt crowded even on sea days, just loses some of the intimacy of the smaller ones. Bar tenders and deck severs were a bit over over whelmed and not as friendly.

Our cabin (D1-6194) was just right for us with the bed next to the large balcony and met our needs. Cabin steward (Ashford) was very helpful and kept everything in good order. Food in the MDR was good and the service excellent, we only ate their twice as we did Chops, Izumi and Johnny Rockets all three of which were excellent. We don't do the formal nights anymore and decided to do the WindJammer for the sea food extravaganza, which is an utter joke. Tasteless boiled shrimp and lobster ( which is hidden around the corner) that you cant get out of the shell. We both like the WJ for what it is, however this was horrible and breakfast was just as bad. The shows were excellent with the headliner (Finis), Comedy show and the Aqua show being the best. Labadee was awesome we've been there before did the private beach and the dragons breath zip line. We are in are fifties and the zip line was excellent. Didn't get off in Jamacia been there before and had some issues didn't feel comfortable. Did the Mayaian ruins and beach in Cozmel, a little disappointed as we were excessively hassled by the local merchants with one making a nasty remark because we didn't patronize his store. We were hassled at the beach as well to a lesser extent. We understand they are trying to make a living but "no thank you" should suffice. On board did the wine tasting which was very good and learned more about wine. The Solarium is the best place to chill, pool is a little crowded on sea days but there was always a spot for a dip. Spent some time watching people on the flowrider which was fun. Overall great vacation and the Oasis is amazing. Next cruise will be to Alaska on RCCL.
