My husband and I always look forward to cruising with Royal Caribbean. This was our 2nd cruise aboard the Oasis..last time was two years ago. Wow, what a difference two years make. I always do pre cruise reservations for our dining using the My Time dining option. Never had a problem till this cruise. The American Icon dining room was very disorganized with long lines, waiting for a table, etc. Making pre cruise reservations for dining basically did not apply, especially when there was a line for those without a reservation getting a table before those with reservations. One night we were actually sent to another dining room. Second night, we had a table in the My Time dining room, but our waiter could care less if we were there. By the third night we finally got a decent table with outstanding waiters who actually cared and wanted to serve you. We then requested to be seated in this area every night, which they happily agreed to do only if we dined when they wanted us too...so much for My Time dining.

Next we had issues within our cabin. One day no electricity for over 4 hours, we were told that a block of cabins on deck 10 were without...that was reassuring. But they didn't seem too concerned about the issue. Then comes the toilet issues....the overflowing of the toilet with water gushing from the back of it, going all over the floor. We were told to call maintenance ourselves and were reassured that our room would be sanitized. Highly doubt that was done. This happened numerous times.

The cruise line's policy on reserving deck chairs, chairs for the shows not enforced, so why have them. I was cussed out by a fellow passenger for taking her deck chair...there was no indication that the chair was being used by anyone.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F

Cabin was clean, had good cabin attendant. No problems until the toilet started overflowing on numerous occasions. Did not have electricity in room for over 4 hours one day, we were told a block of rooms on that deck were without power.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We did get off the ship and took the water taxi over to the town and we were met by a very nice young man who offered us a two beach chairs with an umbrella plus five beverages ( beers, sodas, water or some fruity drinks) and the use of clean restrooms all for twenty bucks. The chairs were ours for the day....nice clean beach area. Enjoyed.

Nassau

Nassau is a dump...We very seldom get off the ship. You are hounded by Bahamians the minute you get off the ship. Do not recommend doing any excursions. Through Royal Caribbean very expensive and not sure if I would trust some of the locals.
