1st Alaskan cruise, weather was unseasonably warm, and dry. Seas were as smooth as glass. Stayed in a haven suite. Embarkation was super easy, as we were escorted thru the lines, and to a sitting area to do our paperwork. We were then escorted for lunch in Moderno. Our rooms were ready at 1:00pm. Room was very nice, furniture recovered, and new rugs, no more bright "jewel" colors, more muted, easier on the eyes. Our Butler was Erlindo, he was very courteous and professional, Don was our room steward, and Jon was our haven attendant. ALL of them were fabulous.
The food was mediocore, nothing terrible, but nothing stood out. Even the pay resturants, think Applebees. I was not expecting anything fabulous, so I was not disappointed. The ship was very clean. We did not see the shows at night, because we were busy following Randon, the acoustical guitar player. He was excellent. Played in the style of Neil Diamond, James Taylor, ect. Alcohol....was not pushed like it used to be, at meals, we had to ask for cocktails, at shows, and in the lounge, you had to flag down servers. Not all the bars are open all the time. During the day, you had to use the outside bars or one main bar. All inside bars were finally opened at 9:30pm to close. Disembarking was very easy, off the boat and thru customs in 20 min.
