We had been to Europe, but had never taken a river cruise before. We weren't sure what to expect, but knew that Viking had a reputation for wonderful cruises. In every way this trip exceeded any expectations we had.

The excursions were to quaint Colmar, beautiful Strasbourg, the Black Forest, picturesque Heidelberg, the seaside towns of Rudesheim and Koblenz, a scenic trip through the Rhine gorges, fairy tale castles, and finally, the countryside of the Netherlands.

Our cabin was surprisingly spacious for a shipboard room, with a large, comfortable bed, ample closet and bureau space, and a generous bathroom with shower. Read more
